A good walkway does more than connect two points: it makes your entry welcoming, keeps guests safe and gives the front of your home a finished look.
We build walkways, front-entry landings, side-yard paths and steps with attention to slope, surface grip and code. Steps in particular have to be consistent and safe, since uneven risers are a common trip hazard.

Walkway and step details
- Width: Walkways are typically 36 to 48 inches wide. Wider paths feel more welcoming and are easier for two people.
- Steps: Building code generally limits stair risers to 7 3/4 inches and requires treads of at least 10 inches. We build them consistent so no one trips.
- Grip: A light broom finish or added texture keeps surfaces safe when wet.
- Style: Add color, a stamped pattern or a decorative border to match your home.

How much does it cost to add concrete steps?
Steps cost more per square foot than flat work because of the forming and finishing involved. We price them individually so you can see exactly what the steps add to your project.
Can you replace just part of my walkway?
Yes. We can remove and replace damaged sections, though a new section will not match old concrete perfectly. We will talk you through your options.
Do walkways need control joints?
Yes. Control joints are cut or tooled into the concrete so that shrinkage cracking happens along planned lines instead of randomly across the surface.
How long until I can walk on it?
Light foot traffic is usually fine after 24 to 48 hours. Keep heavy loads and wheelbarrows off it for about a week.
